This guide walks you through installing and configuring Zaffro in your WooCommerce store, step by step.

What you'll need

  • A WordPress 6.0+ and WooCommerce 7.0+ store
  • The plugin ZIP file — from the download link in your sign-up email
  • Your license key (ZAFFRO-TRIAL-XXXX format, in the same email)

Install the plugin

  1. Download the Zaffro ZIP from the download link in your email.
  2. WordPress admin → Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
  3. Select the downloaded ZIP → "Install Now".
  4. Click "Activate Plugin".
✅ If a "Zaffro" item appears in the left admin menu, the install succeeded.

Activate your license

  1. WordPress admin → Zaffro → Settings.
  2. Find the License section at the top.
  3. Paste the key from your email (ZAFFRO-TRIAL-XXXX).
  4. Click "Activate".
✅ The status turns to "Active" and shows your remaining trial days.

Store basics

WordPress admin → Zaffro → Settings, fill in the core fields:

Store nameThe name of your shop (e.g. "Flower Shop").
AI agent nameWhat the customer sees (e.g. "Lily", "Sam", "Assistant").
Welcome messageThe first line your agent says (e.g. "Hi! How can I help?").
Max discount (%)How much you can generally allow (e.g. 10).
💡 Leave the AI mode on "Cloud (Zaffro server)" — no own API key required.

Finally, click "Save settings".

Customize the system prompt (recommended)

The system prompt tells the agent how to behave. The default is generic — it's worth tailoring it to your store:

  1. The agent's personality (friendly, expert, playful?).
  2. What it knows about your products (e.g. "Handmade ceramics, 3–5 day shipping").
  3. What it should not promise (e.g. "Don't promise express shipping").
⚠️ Keep these variables in place: {{catalog}}, {{max_discount}}, {{date}}.

Per-product max discount

This protects you from the agent offering an unrealistic discount on a given product:

  1. WordPress admin → Products → pick a product → Edit.
  2. General tab → "AI max discount (%)" field.
  3. Enter a number (e.g. 15 = max 15% on this product).
  4. 0 → no haggling on this product. Empty → the store-wide setting applies.

Test it

~2 min
  1. Open your store front-end (in an incognito window, not the admin view).
  2. The chat button 💬 appears in the bottom-right corner.
  3. Click it and send a message (e.g. "Hi, I'm interested in product X").
  4. Try haggling too — the agent gradually offers a discount and takes you to checkout in one click.
✅ If the agent replies and haggling works, you're all set.

Troubleshooting

The chat button doesn't appear

  • Check that the license is active (Zaffro → Settings → License section).
  • Check that the "Chat widget" is enabled in settings.
  • Clear your cache if you use a caching plugin.

The agent doesn't reply

  • Check that the AI mode is set to "Cloud (Zaffro server)".
  • If it still doesn't work, email us — we'll help.
